About this project

Follow the money behind the stories.

Childhood, Inc. is an independent guide to how famous franchises make money and who controls their rights today. We ask where the money came from and show the sources next to the answer.

Our promise

Every number has a source, a date, an explanation of what it counts and a confidence level. When rights are shared, we show that instead of naming one owner for the sake of a simpler answer.

The totals are estimates of revenue earned over time. They are not profit, company value or money paid to today's owner. If the sources cannot support an exact answer, we say so.

Current public snapshot: 2026-09-03.

How the free site is funded

The plan is to use a small number of standard ads to pay for hosting and research. Advertisers do not choose, approve or influence the stories. Ads are clearly labelled, kept out of games and kept away from source records. Read the full rules on the ads and privacy page.

Corrections keep the numbers honest

Companies sell rights, estimates change and better sources appear. Send the franchise name, the number or claim that looks wrong, and a first-hand source. We list accepted changes in Market Moves.

Open a correction issue

The issue is public. Include sources, but do not include personal information.
