One more story
Kenner could not manufacture the toys in time for Christmas 1977, so it sold an Early Bird Certificate Package: a box containing a cardboard display, some stickers, and a promise that four action figures would arrive by mail. Parents bought it anyway. The empty box is now a collectible in its own right.
